House Painters in Ann Arbor
Interior and Exterior Painting Across Washtenaw County
Simply Amazing LLC provides interior and exterior painting services in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline and the surrounding area, working on interiors through the winter and exteriors in season.
Preparation Is the Whole Job
Paint fails for one reason far more often than any other, which is that it went onto a surface that was not properly prepared.
Washing, scraping and priming are part of every painting job. When we paint the outside of a house, the house gets properly washed first, it gets time to dry, and loose material comes off before anything new goes on. That is not an upsell, it is the part that determines whether the paint is still there in eight years.
The Paint We Use
We use premium quality paints and stains, and nothing cheaper. That means Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore on our jobs.
Good preparation on a cheap coating still fails early. The combination is what gives you a finish that holds its color and keeps its edges for years rather than seasons, and it is the reason we do not quote against the lowest bidder on materials.
Exterior Painting
- Full exterior repaints
- Trim, fascia, soffits and shutters
- Doors and garage doors
- Porches, railings and columns
- Decks and fences, where a solid stain or paint is the right choice
Exterior work runs from late spring through early fall, when temperatures and humidity let the paint cure properly.
Interior Painting
- Whole rooms, walls and ceilings
- Trim, doors and baseboards
- Basements and stairwells
- Kitchens and bathrooms
Winter is the right time for interior work. The house is already closed up and we are not competing with our own outdoor schedule.
What It Costs
Pricing: Interior painting starts at around $400 to $600 per room. Exterior painting usually requires an on-site consultation, and can run into the thousands for a larger full exterior job.
Every estimate is free, and we will walk the job with you before quoting anything larger.

Common Questions
Do you paint in the winter?
Yes, we do interior painting throughout the winter. Exterior painting has to wait for the right weather, because paint applied below the manufacturer’s minimum temperature will not cure properly no matter how good it looks going on.
Do you do the prep yourself?
Yes. Washing and surface preparation is the core of our business the rest of the year, which is exactly why our paint jobs last.
What kind of paint do you use?
Premium quality paints and stains only, primarily Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore. Cheaper coatings cost less on the invoice and more over the life of the job, because they chalk, fade and lose their edges sooner. If you have a preference or a product your builder specified, tell us and we will work with it.
Can you match an existing color?
Yes. If you have the original can or the color code, matching is straightforward. If not, we can color match from a sample.
Do you paint aluminum or vinyl siding?
Aluminum, yes, with the right primer and preparation. Vinyl is possible with the right products, but there are limits on how dark you can go without causing warping, and we will talk you through that before quoting.
